Hawai’i , a former monarchy and the only state in America with a royal Palace, is
primarily a destination for tropical sun worshipers. A popular destination for tourists
from around the world, Hawaii’s high season is Christmas, Easter, Spring Breaks,
and summer. With eight islands to chose from, each with its own unique flavor,
most first time visitors make O’ahu and its familiar Waikiki their vacation stop.
Others discovering the charms of the outer islands inevitably find their favorites
and return time after time.
Within the United States there are no enclaves more culturally diverse than Hawai’i.
Being a former Monarchy the Hawaiian people are known for their Aloha, or
hospitality. The state is an amalgam of Polynesian, Chinese, Japanese, and
western American cultural ideals. Pidgin English and native Hawaiian is a
predominate offshoot of English, so be prepared for da’ kine experience,
and Mahalo.
The British Union Jack is representative of the historical relationship with Great Britain as the protectorate
of the Hawaiian Kingdom. The eight horizontal stripes represent the eight main Hawaiian islands.
The stripes are alternating colors in the order of white, red then blue beginning at the top.
